connection problem using Tomcat

iam using tomcat and Oracle 10g DB and having this problem with connection. It works well but sometimes it gives this error;
java.lang.RuntimeException: An error occurred while trying to create a java.sql.Connection: Listener refused the connection with the following error:
ORA-12519, TNS:no appropriate service handler found
The Connection descriptor used by the client was:
localhost:1521:XE
any suggestions, thanks in advance.

Glassfish+Oracle problem: Connection could not be allocated because ...

Hi,
I'm trying to get the 'customer cmp' sample that followed JDK5 to work on Oracle. To do this I've just created a new Oracle connection pool and changed the sample jdbc resources to the that pool.
The Oracle pool seems to work fine, and I can ping it from the admin console.
However, I'm getting this exception:
application_server_name_and_version
RAR5038:Unexpected exception while creating resource
RAR5117 : Failed to obtain/create connection. Reason : Connection could not be allocated because: Ugyldig Oracle-URL er angitt: OracleDataSource.makeURL
RAR5114 : Error allocating connection : [Error in allocating a connection. Cause: Connection could not be allocated because: Ugyldig Oracle-URL er angitt: OracleDataSource.makeURL]
EJB5018: An exception was thrown during an ejb invocation on [CustomerSession]"Ugyldig Oracle-URL er angitt" is norwegian for "Invalid Oracle URL specified".
The url format I'm using is:
jdbc:oracle:thin:#serverip:1521:dbname
As I said, I'm able to ping the pool from the admin console - and I'm also able to browse the oracle database from Netbeans using the same url - so it should be fine.
But still, I get the exception above when trying to use it from my bean.
Anyone got a clue?
I fixed this problem by updating my drivers as described here:
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=531620&start=10&tstart=0
I've written a whole article on settings a connection pool and datasource.
I am certain this might be of help to anyone using Oracle on Glassfish
You can leave a comment to me and i'll get back to you

Database error : CreateConnInternal olog() URGENT

Hi,
I am getting the following error :
error: ORCL-002: CreateConnInternal olog(): p
[13/SEP/2001 23:38:04:5] error: DATA-108: failed to create a data
connection with any of specified drivers
exc in con is java.sql.SQLException: failed to create a data connection

Am using iAS SP2 on Solaris with Oracle as database and ORACLE_OCI
driver. Have checked LD_LIBRARY_PATH , kjs script but no breakthrough.
Any clue ??

Hi,
One possibility may that the SQL Net Client isn't set up properly (or
not all the files are in place). In the Oracle directory
/network/admin/, make sure you have a 'sqlnet.ora' file available.
Also, make sure that your database instance is loaded in the
tnsnames.ora file.
